Having so much fun Katrina

I have had the most fabulous time with my host family and can't believe it's over. Each day after school we went home with our host family. The first night I stayed with my host family We went to a chicken restaurant where I met Yoshiaki (My host dad). I had chicken with rice and chicken skewers for dinner. I then went home with Misato (My host mum), Kana (My 11 year old hist sister) and Nako (My 4 year old host sister) while Yoshiaki went back to work. The second day I did small fireworks, that you hold, in the backyard with Kana and Nako. I gave my host family their presents once Yoshiaki was home because he was leaving for Chicago in the morning. On friday, our 3rd day with our family, we went to Kana's Grandad's house. He owns a traditional Japanese house. I tried Japanese green tea and seaweed at his house. I didn't like either that much. We had dinner at his house and Kana and I played a game with big marbles. On Saturday after a morning of school I bought lunch and then we went to a lake where there was a park next to it. Kana and I rode around the 3km lake twice before we went to the park. There was a ginormous slide. After the park we went to Kana's musical practice. Everyone was saying I was cute and they all wanting a photo with me.
When the bus left and we were on our way to Nikko I was very upset to be leaving my host family.

Leaving host families - Ethan

Hi all

We are left our host families about 30 minutes ago. My host family was so sad, just like me. I wanted to stay 1 more night. Yesterday I went to Kashima with my host family to see the Kashima Antlers (Kashima's soccer team) play against Kashiwa. The names are very similar. Unfortunately Kashima lost, 3-2. They gave me a Kashima top becuase they had two. I am wearing it now. The mum, Ayumi, made me a photo album. I will show some photos in the post. (Sorry about the quality.)

All students must help clean their school. There are no cleaners in Japanese schools!
